For fresh water fishing, what are the best times to go at?

Is their even a certian time fish tend to feed, or just any time during the day?

If you are fishing a lake, it really depends on A: the type of fish (catfish, nighttime; trout; morning or evening; etc.) B: is it raining or sunny? (if it is raining, any time is a good time for trout) and C: how long ago were they planted, if applicable (you usually want to wait anywhere from an hour to a day to let them get acquainted with their new homes).

If you are fishing a river, you will want to monitor your tides. High, outgoing tide is the best time for fishing on the river in my opinion, however, there are a lot of swing moments where the water is not moving at all, this may be a good time for certain types of fish.

Good luck out there.

  1. Your minor and major right now is going to be somewhere between 5AM to 8AM and in the evening, between 6PM to 10PM.

    Good Luck

  3. Fishing is best at dusk and dawn. Catfish though tend to bite better at night around 1 a.m. in my area.

  4. Catch Monster bass right after a rain or during a drizzle with worms. Find a feeder (empties into the lake or river) stream or creek and they`ll be there waiting for worms to get washed into the lake or river. On calm summer evenings I like pulling surface lures like the Heddon torpedo, bass explode on them. In the spring when the water temp is still cool and the bass are in the shallows spawning throw soft plastic lizards. They mimic salamanders that eat the bass` eggs so the bass will do everything it can to destroy that lizard because its a threat.

  5. hey there, around this time of the year they seem to bite pretty much through out the day. when the days warm up the fishing will slow in the middle of the day. it is about the same thing right now but around here (southeast ga) they are biting throughout the day but slowing in the middle of the day. the ""best times""to fish would be at daybreak till about 10 oclock and about 4 till when ever. as summer gets here there will fewer and fewer bites in the middle of the day so get it as much midday fishing as you can. because when it gets hot you will just be practicing your cast. during the summer there are places that you can fish that you should get more bites. try under shade trees that hang over the water, docks, piers, and coverage like lilly pads and such. the freshwater fish try to stay cool throughout these hot days. it may be different around the country but around here that is how it goes. i have fished all throughout the southeastern area of the US and it pretty much has been the same through out. i hope this helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience

  7. early morning and evenings are usually the best. in northern areas when the ice comes off in the spring is great, also late fall before lakes ice-up can be very good.
in my experience though, i find that the best times are when you are awake. there really is no bad time to go fishing.
